Shinrin Yoku, or "forest bathing", is the practice of taking a leisurely stroll through the forest in order to appease the mind and body by breathing in the compounds released by plants, trees, and the soil below. Originating from Japan, this practice is claimed to have several health benefits such as helping lower blood pressure and heart rate, reducing stress hormone production, boosting immunity, uplifting the mood, and improving overall feelings of well-being.

The Ritual: To unwind from the grind and submerge yourself in the stillness of the ancient woods, add the desired quantity of salts to a warm bath, allowing for them to gently dissolve and perfume your bath water before stepping in.  If you prefer not to have loose botanical materials in your tub, our bath salt blends can be poured into a muslin, silk, or tea bag before use. No tub? Bath salts make for a luxurious foot soak.

April Lea (she/her) is a natural perfumer and the founder of Lvnea Perfume. She creates dark, complex, and unisex liquid and solid perfumes exclusively from natural materials and plant essences. Her fragrances combine a fascination with ancient and traditional perfumery techniques with natural history, folklore, and magic. Originally hailing from Philadelphia, she currently resides in Montreal, Quebec where she runs and operates her studio and brick & mortar shop.

Lvnea explores the spaces between the natural world and that of the ethereal. With a focus on pure plant essences and unexpected aromatic combinations, raw materials from rare natural extractions are sourced from around the world to evoke distant memories and awaken unwritten desires.
Each scent begins as a distinct story, transforming the conceptual into high olfactory art. Traditional French parfumerie techniques are juxtaposed with luxuriantly minimal design, creating scents that are at once reminiscent of another world, yet deeply familiar.
